Test and race support

This area of activity is the main focus, as racing at the track is what makes most of fun. From university times until now, I was involved in multiple race series, mainly with GT's but also with open wheelers, prototypes, touring cars, rallye cars, etc.

Racing and testing is based on 3 important pillars:

 Preparation

The aspect of preparation is quite often overlooked in motorsport. This is where the foundation for a succesful event is layed. It involves a multitude of tasks:

  • check notes and data from the past
  • prepare the driver with specific information for the track
  • check weather data
  • make a plan on what and when will happen and detail it as accurate as possible
  • start setup based on previous experience and simulation
  • Analyze timing data
  • ...

Testing / Racing

If preparation is done well, this will be the most fun part of the job. Depending on the role, main tasks are:

  • manage all driver communication
  • tyre/fuel management and documentation
  • Suggest setup changes and options
  • Data analysis
  • driver coaching
  • ...

Post analysis

Post event analysis will reveal all the details of what and why was happened during the event. It will show strenght and weakness as it will reveal wich decisions have been correct and where is room for improovement.

During post analysis, we have the possibility to have a deep look into the data, learn if changes worked as expected and draw conclusions on how to improove.
